Working for Us
Joining Ballucci is more than just a job; it is an opportunity to join a close-knit team of 20 staff across our two locations. We take great pride in our comprehensive training and internal development, offering a genuine career path where you can grow from a role such as Barista, Mixologist, Chef, or Waiting Staff into a Supervisor, Manager or even one of our other.
Because we believe that exceptional customer service is just as important as product quality and ambience, we look for candidates with vibrant personalities who truly enjoy working with people. While technical skills can be taught, a great attitude is innate.
We receive hundreds of applications annually, so we look for individuals who demonstrate commitment, ideally with at least 18 months of tenure at previous employers. All current vacancies are advertised exclusively on Indeed (we do not accept CVs via email). If selected for an interview, we pay close attention to punctuality, presentation, and responsiveness.
Successful candidates are welcomed with a smart uniform, clear service standards, and support from our "Customer Service Champions." In return for your hard work, we offer stability: we do not use zero-hour contracts, wages are paid monthly, and 100% of tips are shared equally among the team.
Work Experience
Landing your first job can feel like a catch-22: you need experience to get hired, but you need a job to get experience. Ballucci’s flexible unpaid work experience program is designed to break that cycle by helping you build practical hospitality skills and strengthen your CV. Running for just one 2-hour shift per week for anywhere from a single week up to twelve months, the program fits seamlessly around your studies and life. Our goal is to help you secure a permanent role. You are welcome to use us as a reference, and with no notice period required, you can start your new position immediately.
During your shift, you will work as an extra hand alongside our team rather than replacing paid staff. You'll start with hospitality essentials like clearing tables and running orders, before expanding into barista training, till customer service, kitchen prep, or mixology if you are over 18. To support your learning, we provide a uniform, cover your travel expenses, and offer constructive feedback in a low-pressure environment.
After three months, we will review your CV, run a mock interview, and provide an official reference. While paid employment isn't guaranteed, impressive candidates will be invited to interview for open roles at Ballucci.
To apply, email info@ballucci.co.uk with your availability and "WORK EXPERIENCE" in the subject line to arrange an informal chat—under 18s are welcome to bring a parent or guardian.
